Hen and Hammock, a great company who love the outdoors just as much as we do, are the place to look for anything outdoorsy or gardening-related. You can count on them to supply ethically-sourced, beautifully crafted products that support local artisans and generally look and feel beautiful. We are proud to have the Frontier among their fantastic range!
Hen and Hammock was formed by Debbie and Andrew Jones in 2006. They both felt like a change in career, and wanted to run an ecommerce business with a strong ethical foundation. One of their core beliefs is that we all have the power to shape the future and that by carefully selecting only products that help rather than hinder the world, the world will be a better place. They love gardening and the outdoors, so this seemed like a good place to focus the product range.
They always start by looking for products locally, especially amongst artisans who struggle to compete against cheaper imports. This is how they found products like their besom broom and hay rake. But to keep the product range fresh they also travel to less developed countries that find it difficult to get products to UK consumers, like their recycled kettle watering cans from Senegal.
From time to time Debbie and Andrew have flashes of inspiration and create their own products. Their favourite is the scarecrow kit, which is assembled on their farm in Oxfordshire.
When not working, they can usually be found in the vegetable garden, in the apiary or wild camping in the Brecon Beacons.
Thanks, Hen and Hammock! We do love that scarecrow - what a lovely smile! Check out their blog for great gardening advice and other lovely things. Check out their website here.
